The threat of the storm tonight has me thinking about snow. Here are some interesting sites I found related to snow. The first one allows you to virtually cut your own snowflakes. It is a cute idea, but it takes a little getting used to the scissors. http://snowflakes.barkleyus.com/
The other two sites have very cool pictures of snowflake, as well as information about them. http://www.itscaltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/

Funny that you posted this - our Harcourt reader had a story about Snowflake Bentley this week. I hope I can show this tomorrow. What a coincidence!
ReplyDeleteEven though the "scissors" on the site were a little tricky, I would think this would be great for the child who has difficulty with fine motor issues and it's so cool to see the completed snowflake! This is a great winter activity for any age kid or adult for that matter :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea--I plan to use this in my computer center in my classroom to make snowflakes.
